The 'P' Word

Patreon for anyone that didn't know has seen to be viewed as something controversial, thus the title for this particular blog post.

I have been reflecting on the pros and cons of this website now and have decided to ask you, if you think if it is a good idea for me to pursue it.

For anyone that doesn't know, Patreon is basically a reward and pay system for your favourite Youtubers to help them get better equipment and be more stable in terms of emergencies ( equipment breaks etc).

In the grand scheme of things, I never thought anything I do or did was worth someone offering '$100 a month'.

So I ask you, what do you think about Patreon? Love it/hate it? Should I pursue it?

  1. You don`t know how many people would love to give something back for that what the ASMRtists gave them on relaxation for so many nights. Not only for equipment, but for all the things they would like to buy. Do it!

Maybe some viewers like more the idea to send you a gift as a thank you. Then you should consider to open an Amazon wishlist.

Anyway, it is nothing that should be controversial. It`s great when we as your viewers get the chance to show our gratitude. :)

  3. I used to think that Patreon was a little weird, but now I think it's a fabulous idea. You make tons of awesome content for us...FOR FREE and I think you should get something in return. You aren't forcing anyone to donate, you're simply putting the option out there for those who would like to give back. Plus, the reward thing is pretty cool too. It allows viewers who donate to feel like they're "special" if you will.

    I vote yes :)
